Grinner Knot
Thread the line through the eye of the hook, swivel etc., ...
Now twist the line back over itself 4 to 5 times....
Bring the tag end around to form a loop......
Just like this ..... now twist the tag end around the first set of coils, again 4 or 5 times.....
Looking good ..... now moisten the line, and pull either end of the coils, to bring the knot together.....
It should start to look something like this.....
Move the knot down so that it meets with the eye of the hook.....
Now really make sure the knot is lubricated (you don't want to damage the line with the friction ).. pull the knot tight together and let the coils ride over the underlying line, and so bed down next to each other......
Trim off the tag end and your done ..
I tend to leave a bit of tag for two reasons:
a) allows the knot to settle under tension without coming undone, and b) makes a good bait grip, esp for worm baits....
