Folkestone

Folkestone Warren 15th July 2001

Up at 1.30am … again .. I must be going bonkers!!!!!
Drove down to Folkestone and arrived at the Warren around 3.30am….
High tide was due around 6.30am, with a weather forecast for a light north westerly wind around force 2 or 3, and scattered showers…..
Decided to fish at the Nags rather than the slipway …. Tackled up with a J13 and started just after 4am …..

There was some surface weed (although it cleared by high water), and whilst the water itself was still green, it had noticeably improved since the previous day…..
The north westerly wind turned out to be more north easterly and cold at that, especially before the sun had fully risen above the cliff edge or was obscured by cloud….. couple of times I wished I’d brought my jeans rather than shorts!!!

Nothing much doing until around 6.30am or so, when I had a take on the J13 .. but failed to connect :-(
But the sun did get up and things didn’t seem quite as bad……
After a while I tried a Dexter wedge, and a slither to see if I could find the fish either on the surface or at depth ….

Neither had the desired effect until around 7.10am when something snatched at the slither…. And again failed to connect!!!!

By 8.30am , I’d had enough and decided to call it a day once more…… and yet another blank to the score sheet!!!!!! :-(
