FOLKESTONE

Folkestone Warren 25th Sept.1997

Started fishing on my own, at the second Apron around 3pm, using a wieghted Redgill (purple), across the sandy slip area at the east end...... wind around force 4 (force 5 at times ..... not the best for spinning!!!!), rising tide (high water around 6pm), lots of weed.....

Around 4.30pm caught a small bass of around 12" or so, photographed and returned....... give it 10 years, and then.....

Moved Westwards towards the Nags head..... lost 2 redgills and a Countdown Rapala..... sure those nice people at Harris will let me buy some more!!!!!

Moved down to the first Apron around 6pm........ lost 2 small fish on Redgill, and had another leap out of the water, as I lifted the redgill out, under my rod tip!!!!!!!!!

School Bass chasing bait fish so I changed over to a J9 Rapala (black /silver)....... hooked and lost a fish of about a pound.....

With the fading light I changed again to an HJ-14 (silver/blue)...... second cast an I'm in....... nice chap called Geff gave me a hand with the landing net (he almost went into the drink, when a rather large wave crashed at our feet...).... weighed in at 1 and 1/4 lb, photographed and returned for another time.........

A few more hits but no connections (you can rally feel everything using the braided line)..... left around 7.30...... poor light stops play!!!!!!!

**** Geff had been fishing with us the day before using float tackle, and had continued after dark, using lug on the bottom......  had a number of pout, and a codling of 1.5lb.....
