Folkestone

Folkestone Warren 3rd June 2000

Got up at 2am to get down to the Warren just before 4am .. met Shaun at the carpark, and then walked down to second apron, and on to slipway (which has now been rebuilt).
Forcast was good, with force 2 variable winds. LW 7.30am HW 12.15pm

Started fishing just after 4.30am

4.45 - 5am ... saw eight bass hitting surface over this period of time .. two within casting range... what a lovely sight, with their glinting scales and tails.. only problem was they didn't want to know about my rapalas :-(

Shaun got snagged up, and lost a lure.........

Shaun moved onto rock ledges in front of second apron..... better vantage point for him, as he had no waders.......

6am..... I moved to sand in font of rocks at Nagshead......

Most exiting thing was a duck swimming by.....

6.15am.... small bass hits surface within casting range... but that was it......

6.30am ... I could see Shaun struggling with his rod .. at first I thought he was snagged again .. but no.... he’d managed to catch a spidercrab on Dexter Wedge!!!!!

A little later Shaun lost another lure......

We moved back to slipway around 9am as the tide came in......

Started fishing off the apron around 10am.... off the buttresses .... and it was my turn to luse a lure ... a J13

By 10.45am I was fishing from the Nagshead over the rocks... but still no fish :-(

12noon ... I stopped as water was lapping over the top, and my left shoulder really hurt.. Shaun continued on with his wellies, but we packed up around 12.30pm , and called it a day....
