Folkestone

Folkestone Warren 4th Sept 1999

Fished from 4.30 to just before 9am ..
HW at 6am .. N/E wind force 3/4 .. decreasing to almost calm.... lovely sunny morning....

To be honest the first hour was minimal as first light was around 5.30am ... had a few tangles with the braid as a consequence of not really being able to see how it was going onto the spool in the half light....

Used a variety of lures such as J9's, Toby, Krillette, and the Bee Dee .,.. but mainly stuck with a blue and white J13....

Lost 1 fish around 7.15 ... it pulled off a few yards of braid from the spool, and than it was gone .. must have just nicked it.. :-(

Had a couple of schoolies chase a J9 around 8am.. but no takes.... they seemed to be swimming deeper than the lure ... something I couldn't really alter, as the tide had dropped to make using a J13 impractical ....

One thing I did notice was that there were quite a few bait fish in the water .. but NO surface predator activity .. ie no mackerel .. and no bass :-(

Passed a few people ground fishing .. got the same response ... all VERY quiet!!!!!!
