FOLKESTONE

Folkestone Rotunda Beach/Mermaid Point 9th Sept.1997

Really nice day, hot and sunny, and very little wind. Started spinning for bass by myself around 4pm, using the pike rod, and a variety of plugs and spinners as I walked from the Rotunda to Mermaid point.

This part of the beach between Folkestone and Sandgate has undergone development in terms of coastal defense work around three years ago or so, and would seem to still be in the process of adjustment, at least as far as the fishing goes (sure someone will tell me otherwise).... but we thought we'd give it a whorl...

Tony joined me around 5.30pm at Mermaid Point...... but we had no joy at all.... so what's new!!!!!!!!! Decided to walk back towards Folkestone pier in the hope of that illusive bass, or maybe swap rapidly to feathers if any mackerel showed.... what did show was a */**** !!!! Trawler no more than 100 yds out..... sometimes I really could do some serious bodily damage.... it really gets under my skin..... anyway enough of the ranting and raving..... end result by 7.45pm when it was getting really rather dark..... NO FISH!!!
