Guide to Shore Fishing in Jersey

This is only a rough guide to the fishing
that can be expected in the month of : January

Variable month this, but often offers good sport with large pollack showing.
Venues for these would normally include: Noirmont, Sorel, La Moye, La Plaine and Elizabeth Castle.

Conger may be an option if the weather is mild, from rough ground spots such as Grosnez, Corbiere, etc..

Small-eyed and undulate rays are also a possibility from the northern shores .... many of the local walls / piers such as those at Rozel, Bouley Bay, Bonne Nuit etc., offer easier if not safer access to these fish...

St.Catherines Breakwater also offers the opportunity for undulate rays, along with conger, and smaller species such as dogfish, pouting and rockling.

The odd large bass may also be encountered from the various pier and rocky marks as well.....

All of the above, really require night fishing .....
fishing during daylight will often prove to be fruitless, save perhaps targeting flounder from southern harbour areas such as St.Aubin's Bay etc....
