Guide to Shore Fishing in Jersey

This is only a rough guide to the fishing
that can be expected in the month of : May



Ray fishing from the north-west coast, such as Plemont for small-eyed rays, and undulate rays from St Catherine's Breakwater.

Spinning and float fishing for bass, pollack, mackerel, and garfish is an option around such marks as Noirmont, Sorel, White Rock, and La Moye, along with float-fishing from the harbours for thick-lipped mullet.

Black Bream are a distinct possibility, from marks such as Bouley Bay, St.Catherine's Breakwater, St.Brelades, Elizabeth Castle, Le Saie, L'Etacquerel etc., etc... Fishing for plaice around the island normally picks-up as well.

Other species that may be caught at this time of year would include; conger, wrasse, dogfish, pouting, and perhaps red mullet.
