Identification:
A very small "left-sided" flatfish - similar to the megrim, but with rough scales on the underside.

Breeding:
Populations inhabiting the English Channel breed during spring.

Habitat:
The Norwegian Topknot is found inshore on rough, stony ground.

Food:
Feeds on small invertebrates and fish eggs.

Range:
In UK waters, the Norwegian Topknot ranges from the English Channel to the Irish Sea and Western Atlantic - possibly also the North Sea.
